Teacher injured in the shooting of a 6-year-old student. A 6-year-old student
opened fire on a teacher at Richneck Elementary School in Virginia. The teacher who was seriously injured in this incident was immediately shifted to the hospital. No other students were injured in the incident in Newport City, Virginia, police said. Virginia Mayor Philip Jones said that the six-year-old boy accused in this case has been taken into custody by the police.

The police say that there was an argument between the student and the teacher after which the boy opened fire. Newport Police Chief Steve Drew said he received a call about the shooting around 2 p.m. As soon as the information was received, his team reached there. Senior police officers said that the matter is being investigated. However, the police did not clarify the issue of where the gun fired by the student came from. After this incident, a holiday was declared in the primary school.
